I got a cat!

This is Veksha. She's a Siberian cat. Very beautiful. When she let's me hold her, it's like wrestling a tiger. She's all muscle and no fat. Lean (and a bit mean) cat! I'm trying very hard to have patience with her and she is slowly coming around.
I'm wearing my favorite (side-to-side) sweater with the lace along the bottom edge and front.

Comfort and Sorrow

I'm working on a pair of socks for Rob. I've begun the second one. K2, P2, K2, P2...I'm working on the ankle. Socks have been a focus for me in the past few weeks and as I work my way through them and each of their stages...ankle, heel, gusset, instep, foot, toe...I'm continually amazed at the science, the beauty, the thought that went into designing the humble sock. It fits. It conforms to our foot, keeping it warm and protected. It has possibly saved lives and others from near death at their wear. We hear of stories that they have found a mummified body preserved in the bog WITH SOCKS ON! Even in death, the concern to be wearing socks must be have been taken under consideration so long ago. I don't know what sex -- male or female -- that invented the lowly apparel, but God bless them. Today we heard the news that our dear Uncle Joe had passed away at 3 am this morning. God bless socks. God bless Uncle Joe. We remember you most fondly!
